The Joshua Farm is a unique one-acre
farm
located
in the heart of a “food desert” in the
city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Owners
Kirsten Reinford and Joshua Mortiz grow
over 40 varieties of fresh produce for
over 45 local families
through the
use of a seasonal high tunnel, supported
by NRCS. The high tunnel (also known as
a “hoop house”) makes urban farming
possible on small acreage and supplies
fresh produce for longer periods to a
large city population. |
