Pennsylvania NRCS Vacancies

We announce each of our vacancies in two ways.  When searching for vacancies in Pennsylvania you'll find Vacancy Announcement Numbers like NRCS- PA-08-01A and NRCS-PA-08-01B to indicate these two ways to apply for available positions.

A Vacancy Announcement like NRCS-PA-08-01A will have the suffix "Merit Promotion" after the title of the job being filled.  It is open to current and former Federal Employees, (commonly referred to as Status Candidates), Career Transition Assistance Program CTAP/ICTAP Eligibles; Veterans Employment Opportunities (VEOA), and those who are eligible for special hiring authorities (i.e., Veterans' Recruitment Appointment (VRA); Handicap; Peace Corps; Volunteers In Service to America (VISTA); 30% Disabled Veteran).

A Vacancy Announcement like NRCS-PA-08-01B will have the suffix "Delegated Examining Unit" after the title of the job being filled.  It is open to all U.S. Citizens.  You may see the term "Non-Status" Candidates used to distinguish between all U.S. Citizens and the Status Candidates covered in the category above.
