Pennsylvania NRCS Vacancies

Vacancy announcements are open to candidates based on the information provided in the “Who May Be Considered” section of the announcement.  The two types of vacancies are:

Status:  The vacancy number will have a “A’ suffix, such as NRCS-PA-08-01A.  The wording in the “Who May Be Considered” section will be “Applications will be accepted from current and former competitive service Federal employees, and people under special hiring authorities.”    This vacancy is open to current and former (eligible for reinstatement) Federal Employees, (commonly referred to as Status Candidates), Career Transition Assistance Program CTAP/ICTAP Eligibles; Veterans Employment Opportunities (VEOA), and those who are eligible for special hiring authorities (i.e., Veterans' Recruitment Appointment (VRA); Handicap; Peace Corps; Volunteers In Service to America (VISTA); 30% Disabled Veteran).

Non-Status:  The vacancy number will have a “B” suffix, such as NRCS-PA-08-01B.  The wording in the “Who May Be Considered” section will be “Applications will be accepted from US Citizens, from current and former competitive service Federal employees, and people eligible under special hiring authorities.”    This vacancy is open to the public, Federal employees in an excepted service appointment,  Career Transition Assistance Program CTAP/ICTAP Eligibles; Veterans Employment Opportunities (VEOA), and those who are eligible for special hiring authorities (i.e., Veterans' Recruitment Appointment (VRA); Handicap; Peace Corps; Volunteers In Service to America (VISTA); 30% Disabled Veteran).  There are circumstances where a current “status” employee may wish to submit an application under the non-status vacancy announcement.
