Pennsylvania Farm Bill Conservation Programs Calendar

March 2008

Field offices should emphasize developing conservation plans with high priority farmers and landowners. Send requests for I&E assistance to Area Offices.

 

March 15, 2008-    Extension of 2002 Farm Bill expires. Authority expires for CRP, FRPP, GRP, WHIP and WRP.

                           Obligate all 2008 FRPP, WHIP and WRP funds.

April 2008

April 1, 2008-         Field Offices receive list from Farm Service Agency of Prior Year CRP contracts selected for status review.

 

July 2008

July 1, 2008-           Finish obligating 2008 AMA funds.


 

August 2008

August 29, 2008-    Applications filed for first ranking cycle for FY 2009 AMA, EQIP, WHIP, and WRP. Also state CIG, if allowed.

 

    

September 2008

September 12, 2008 - Complete all FY 2008 payment approvals and contract modifications in Protracts in preparation for end-of-year closeout.

 

September 30, 2008-    Applications filed for consideration in second ranking cycle for FY 2009 AMA, EQIP, WHIP, and WRP funding. (A second ranking will only be done if funds remain after first ranking period.)

 

October 2008

October 11, 2008-        Finish ranking applications received by August 29, 2008 for the first ranking period.     

 

 

November 2008

November 1, 2008-    Field offices begin sending reminder letters to program participants with practices scheduled for fiscal or calendar year 2009.

Applications received in the second round by September 30, 2008 are ranked (if funding was available).

 

November 28, 2008-    Applications approved for funding from the first ranking period are obligated.

 

 

December 2008

December 19-            All funds are obligated for FY 2009 AMA, EQIP, WHIP, WRP, and state CIG.

 

December 31, 2008-    Field offices finish contract reviews for program participants who are out of compliance.
